Coimbatore Sri Venkatachalapathy Temple
Thenthirumalai Sri Venkatachalapathy temple is situated in Karamadai – Sirumugai Road, which is about 30 kms from Coimbatore. This Holy Idol is the replica of the world famous shrine Tirumala, Tirupathy.
Like the one in Tirupathy, this Thenthirumalai is located on a hill which is about 1000 feet above Mean Sea Level.
The Sri Venkatachalapathy Temple is surrounded by evergreen Mango and Banana plantations. The ecology of the area is maintained with care by retaining the green vegetation on the slopes.
The coconut and arecanut trees are like natural boundry. Lord Balaji is in the main Temple. Sri Garudalvar sits facing the lord.
Sri Sudarsana Alwar, Sri Yoga Narasimhar, the four vaishnavite savants Sri Ramanujar, Nammalwar, Thirumangai Alwar and Sri Vendanta Desikar are housed.
A Vaigunta Dwaram is also built up. At about 150 meters ascending of the garden path there is Sri Anjeneya Statue. After climbing 33 steps we can reach the main Temple which has a 45 foot high Dwajasthambam.
